We have been consulting with residents to find out their views about the future of the Farnham and Hilldene Estate since 2016.
The Farnham and Hilldene shopping area is a key place for Harold Hill's residents and businesses.
In March 2021, the Council’s cabinet committed to significant investment in the area to ensure it continues to be a beacon for the neighbourhood and the whole community to enjoy.
In addition to redeveloping Farnham and Hilldene Estate two neighbouring sites, Chippenham Road and the old library site, were added to be delivered as a single masterplan vision.
We have begun to explore what benefits the investment could bring to the area, its residents, businesses and the wider community.
Sites:
- 1 - Family Welcome Centre and Medical Centre
- 2 - Chippenham Road
- 3 - Farnham and Hilldene Estate
Wider Estate:
- 2 - St George's Parish Church and Centre
- 3 - Harold Hill Library
Did you know?
There are regular community consultation meetings held to engage with residence, neighbours and businesses.
We are committed to working together with the community to deliver this ambitious project.
We are carefully planning the regeneration of this area and proposing to deliver the project in a number of phases.
Phase 1 - Family Welcome Centre and Health Centre.
Phase 2 – Chippenham Road.
Phase 3 – Farnham and Hilldene Estate. This estate is also proposed to have a number of sub phases. This would be done in order to keep a majority of the shops open and minimise the impact on local businesses.
The process will take a significant number of years. Construction of the Phase 1 is earmarked to start in Summer 2024.
This masterplan vision is aiming to deliver a number of new community facilities, environmental improvements and high quality homes including affordable housing.
For further information please see our next section ‘The story so far’.
If you’d like to discuss the project, book a call or meeting with our Regeneration Officer or find out more you can contact us at regeneration@havering.gov.uk.
"I can’t say a bad word about the way it was handled. The officers were fantastic. We feel very settled and grateful."
