Face to Face is our systemic approach to family care and was adopted as part of a top to bottom redesign of our Children’s Service in 2016, with a refreshed model of practice being launch in October 2021.

Our model of practice offers our social care staff additional skills, approved models of intervention and a secure theoretical model of change for the work they undertake with children, young people and their families.

It is based around supporting more face to face time between workers, children, young, people and families.

The practice is rooted in evidence based intervention in order to provide long term positive outcomes.

We invest in our workforce so that they are fully trained and qualified in systemic practice, empowering them to reduce the number of families who re-enter the system and ultimately the number of children in care.

It centres around developing relationships, providing practitioners more support, freeing them up to spend more time in face to face contact with those they are working with.
