Councillor Ray Morgon, Leader of Havering Council, said:
"We were shocked at the horrific scenes in Hainault yesterday.
"Our thoughts and sympathies go out to the family and loved ones of the 14-year-old boy whose life was so tragically cut short.
"We also send our best wishes to the other victims caught up in the attack and wish them a speedy and full recovery.
“Our thanks and commendation go out to our police and other emergency service colleagues whose bravery meant that the incident was quickly contained and the public were protected from further harm.
“We understand that this incident has sent shockwaves through the Hainault and wider Redbridge communities.
"We offer our thoughts and support to our neighbours at this very difficult time.”
