Strategic Planning Committee (SPC) Members have received an update on plans for the East Havering Data Centre.
Digital Reef, updated members on the development proposals for this site, which is near North Ockendon in the east of the Borough.
The Committee also heard from Council Officers who provided an update on the project and the work underway to fully consider and assess the proposals.
This included details of the process which will follow, including public consultation, if it is determined that a Local Development Order (LDO) is the appropriate planning route for the development.
The Committee would need to approve any future consultation on the LDO.
A spokesperson for the Local Planning Authority said:
“The Committee received an important progress update. If a decision is made to proceed with the LDO, I would like to reassure residents that there would be full public consultation before a final decision is taken.
