Councillor Ray Morgon, Leader of Havering Council, said:
“I am disgusted by the scenes of hatred and violence in parts of the country in recent days.
“Locally, we continue to put out messaging condemning violence and hate and directing residents on how they can get support if they are a victim of a Hate Crime.
“I urge Havering residents to stay united and warn anyone thinking about causing trouble in our borough – that we will work with police to ensure they face the full force of the law.
“I have been working with all faith leaders in the borough to ensure that Havering remains a place with good community relations and cohesion and we continue to support our most vulnerable communities during this troubling time.”
