Havering Council is urging local small to medium sized businesses to sign up for free climate change training to help them reduce their costs, grow their business and reduce emissions.

The Greener Futures initiative, which is funded by the UK Government and supported by The Mayor of London, aims to empower your business with leading industry experts to support you on the path to net zero – for free.

The training, which concludes with Green Futures Badge Certification, allows users to go at their own pace whilst accessing both the in-person and online learning portal.

Following the training, designed to help futureproof your business, you will have the skills to measure, manage and reduce emissions in areas such as transport, buildings, waste and energy.

With eLearning webinars starting on 11 and 10 September 2024, time is running out to sign up and take advantage of the full support on offer, places are limited.

The first in-person workshops will be held at CEME Campus on 24 and 25 September 2024 with breakfast, lunch and supper options available.

So if you have a local business and want to get answers to your questions, learn from decarbonisation experts, meet like-minded businesses and find ways to save money while going green – now is your chance.

Councillor Natasha Summers, Cabinet Lead for Climate Change and Housing Need, said:

“Greener Futures reflects the Council’s commitment to supporting local businesses’ as we work to reduce borough emissions in line with the Havering Climate Change Action Plan and national targets.

“We are really excited to have gained funding to deliver Greener Futures and help businesses across the borough gain knowledge and save money while adapting to a more sustainable future.

“It’s positive to see that a number of businesses have already signed up and are all set to take advantage of the free training worth thousands of pounds.

"If you have a business and are unsure if you are eligible, don’t hesitate to get in touch with the team for advice.”
