FCC Environment has taken over the UK branch of Urbaser, as the Council’s waste partner and contractor.
All services to residents will remain the same with no change to waste collections, street cleaning services or any operational services previously provided by Urbaser.
The only difference residents will see is new branding and logos on collection vehicles, street cleaning equipment, and staff uniforms and protective clothing (PPE).
This will be carried out at no cost to the Council.
FCC Environment has taken on the same contract as was agreed with Urbaser to provide a street cleansing service.
As well as the waste and recycling collections and weed control services for the next eight years.
The contract also includes the green garden waste collection service and fly-tipping clearance.
Also, graffiti cleaning and collection of clinical and bulky waste.
Councillor Ray Morgon, Leader of Havering Council, said:
“We’re delighted to be working with FCC Environment to deliver the contract for our waste and recycling service.
“We know that our waste and recycling service along with street cleaning are among the services most valued by our residents.
“Our main message to residents is that nothing changes with FCC taking over the contract.
"Our aim, as always, is to continue a high level of service that residents have come to expect.”
Brian Ashby, Head of Collections at FCC Environment, said:
"As one of the UK's leading resource and waste management businesses, we are really looking forward to working with the team at Havering Council.
“We aim to continue to deliver the same great service and to hopefully add value, as a market leader in our field."
