As part of the Where We Live campaign, residents are being invited to adopt and rejuvenate neglected areas, known as Grot Spots, to create greener, more pleasant community spaces.

Grot Spots are typically small pockets of unused or overgrown land, such as verges that are frequently driven over or forgotten patches of grass.

These neglected areas can become vibrant gardens or community green spaces with a little care and effort.

The process is simple.

  1. Identify a Grot Spot in your area that you’d like to clean up or adopt.
  2. Use the online form to share details about the location and your ideas for its transformation.
  3. Havering Council will help identify the landowners and connect you with local community groups to support your project.

This initiative empowers residents to take pride in their neighbourhoods, working together to create spaces that are safer, greener, and more enjoyable for everyone.

Whether you’re looking to plant flowers, clear overgrowth, or create a shared garden, your efforts can make a significant difference.

Visit the Where We Live campaign page to learn more and take the first step toward transforming your community.

Let’s work together to love where we live!
