Street cleaning teams sweeping leaves on the streets

As part of the Where We Live campaign, Council's street cleaning teams work hard every autumn to ensure that key roads and areas with a large number of trees are kept clear of debris.

The Council's street cleaning teams collect fallen leaves from roads and pavements daily, helping to maintain clean and safe streets for all residents.

In addition to the regular cleaning service, residents can play an important role in keeping their neighbourhoods tidy.

If you notice leaves accumulating outside your home or along the pavement, you can bag them up and request a collection from the Council.

Simply visit the leaves page to arrange for the collection of extra leaves.

For those with large gardens or frequent leaf fall, consider signing up for the garden waste collection service or using a compost bin to manage your leaves sustainably.

How you can get involved

The Where We Live campaign encourages residents to take an active role in maintaining their neighbourhoods.

Whether it's reporting a blocked pavement, joining in a community clean-up, or participating in litter picks, every small action contributes to a cleaner, greener Havering.

If you’re already out and about taking part in a litter pick or clean-up, we’d love to hear about it.

Share your efforts by using the hashtag #WhereWeLive and tag @LBofHavering on Twitter/X.

Visit the Where We Live campaign page for more information on how to request leaf collections and get involved in keeping Havering beautiful this autumn.

Together, we can make a difference and love Where We Live.
