As part of the Where We Live campaign, residents and community groups are taking action to help keep the borough clean and safe for everyone.
Many dedicated volunteers and groups regularly head out into their communities to pick up litter, ensuring that their neighbourhoods remain tidy, even in the colder months.
These local heroes are working alongside Havering Council’s street cleaning and ground maintenance teams to maintain the beauty of our streets.
One such group, the Harold Hill Wombles, recently teamed up for a litter pick, a tidy-up, and even planted poppy seeds at the Hilldene shopping area in Harold Hill.
They also care for the planters at this location, but are looking for more volunteers to help keep the planters looking beautiful year-round.
The Wombles welcome anyone who wants to join their efforts, whether you're available to help regularly or just occasionally.
You can contact them via their Facebook page if you'd like to get involved.

Let’s keep havering clean
Remember, we all have a part to play in keeping our streets, parks, and green spaces clean.
If you see litter, please dispose of it properly by placing it in a bin or taking it home with you.
Together, we can make Havering a cleaner, safer, and more beautiful place to live.
