More than 93 percent of Havering pupils were offered one of their top three choices of secondary schools on National Offer Day (3 March 2025).

This ranks Havering 3 percent above the London average.

The figure, of 3,087 pupils, is a slight increase on last year’s, which saw 92.2 percent of pupils getting into one of their top three choices.

The number of first place offers from last year increased slightly, by 0.5 percent, with 2,538 pupils given their first choice.

More than 70 Havering pupils were offered out-of-borough grammar schools, with a total of 346 pupils being offered schools out of the borough.

The Council’s Schools Admissions Team, handled a total of 3,317 applications from Havering residents, which was slightly lower than last year’s 3,388 applications.

Councillor Oscar Ford, Cabinet Member for Children and Young People, said:

“Congratulations to the thousands of pupils who have received one of their preferred school choices.

“The borough has some excellent schools which is reflected in their Ofsted ratings, so pupils can be assured that the school they will be attending in September will provide an excellent learning and nurturing environment.

“I would like to personally thank the school admissions team who do an amazing job of providing information, advice and guidance, which allows parents and families to make their choice; and for co-ordinating the offers to help pupils as much as possible to get into the school they choose.

“I would also like to thank the school organisation team who have worked with schools to deliver an expansion programme which has added much needed school places in recent years.”
