Cotleigh Road residents recently heard back from Havering Council and Wates on how their views on the plans for the design of two blocks at Waterloo and Queen Street have been taken on board.

Havering Council and Wates, who form the Joint Venture partnership, worked closely with the design team to make adjustments where possible, so that they aligned more with the community's needs and preferences.

At the meeting, the residents were shown the design changes that have been included on Blocks 9 and 10 based on valuable feedback received at a design engagement session held in February.

These changes included adjustments to the buildings height, mature tree screening to increase privacy, and changing balcony positions to reduce the impact on neighbouring properties.

Councillor Graham Williamson, Cabinet Member for Development and Regeneration, said:

“We greatly appreciate the ongoing input from the Cotleigh Road community, and we are committed to maintaining an open and transparent dialogue throughout the regeneration process.

“The changes presented are a direct reflection of the collaboration between the developers and residents, demonstrating our shared goal of creating a well-designed neighbourhood that’s fit for future generations of Havering residents.

“We look forward to continuing our work together to ensure that this regeneration project not only meets the housing needs of the area but also contributes positively to the local community.”
