Havering will once again celebrate and show appreciation for the armed forces on Saturday 29 June 2019.
A parade will take place, starting at 10.30am on South Street's junction with Arcade Place and finishing at Tollgate House in Market Place, Romford.
Among those marching will be currently serving troops, veterans and cadets, as well as service families.
Families and visitors of all ages are invited to attend to show their support, and will also have the chance to enjoy free entertainment in Romford Market.
Celebrations in Romford Market begin from 12noon, with a free mini funfair and military hat hunt with a prize for all who take part. Jeep Jump Jive - a US Army Air Force Jeep playing the swinging sounds of the 1940s will also be bringing entertainment to Market Place.
The celebrations will be held as part of Armed Forces Day, the annual national campaign that gives everyone the opportunity to show their support for the men and women of the armed forces past and present, including currently serving troops, service families, reservists, veterans and cadets.
Councillor Damian White, Leader of Havering Council, said:
"We are proud of our armed forces and we appreciate the courage, sacrifice and hard work they demonstrate to serve their country and keep us safe. Armed Forces Day is celebrated annually and is a small gesture to show our appreciation.
"Each year we mark this special occasion with an incredible response from people across Havering, and this year will be no different. I encourage everybody to come along to show our support to all those who support us every day in keeping the country safe."
