Havering Council’s education service has been shortlisted for the UK Customer Experience Awards 2019 (CXA ’19) after entering the awards for the first time.

CXA is a national awards programme that recognises organisations and individuals who strive to enhance their customer experience through innovative means.

Havering Education Services (HES) was shortlisted in the Product or Service Development category, thanks to its innovative approach working collaboratively with schools to develop HES services.

HES provides schools in and out of Havering with education-focused services. Recognising the need for further services for schools, HES developed the Brokerage Service.

This service was developed in collaboration with schools and provides a bank of suppliers in a number of categories such as occupational health, stationery, telephony and security systems.

The suppliers are vetted for high quality and value for money, saving schools time and money.

Councillor Robert Benham, Havering’s Cabinet member for Education, Children and Families, said of the shortlisting:

“It’s a real honour to be nominated for such a prestigious award. This terrific collaboration between Havering schools and our education services is helping schools both inside and outside of the borough to access good quality services and resources and saving on both time and cost.”

The winners will be announced on Thursday, 10 October 2019.
