Havering Council’s Education Services (HES) is celebrating winning a silver award after entering the prestigious UK Customer Experience Awards (CXA ’19) for the first time.
The Council fought off competition from some of the biggest names on the market comprising private sector suppliers of goods and services, to be named runner- up in the product or service development category.
HES team members, supported by two school representatives, impressed the judges with their engaging 15-minute presentation during the afternoon segment. The day culminated with an awards ceremony in the evening.
The Council was recognised for its innovative approach to working with schools to develop Havering Education Services. This involved setting up a system to provide a pool of suppliers who were vetted and provided good value for money in areas such as occupational health, stationery, telephony and security systems, thereby saving schools time and money.
Councillor Robert Benham, Havering’s Cabinet Member for Education, Children and Families, said:
“This is a well-deserved reward for HES and recognises the efforts and improvements we’ve made in customer experience over the past year.
“Being a part of the awards gave staff a chance to gain a greater appreciation of how organisations can create more meaningful experiences for customers as well as providing the opportunity to network with a diverse range of business leaders from different sectors.”
