Havering Council has decided that there will be no Havering Show this year (2021).

The very popular event was held annually in Harrow Lodge Park in Hornchurch up until August 2019.

The coronavirus pandemic caused last year’s event to be cancelled.

Now, the decision has been made to also cancel plans for the event to return this August 2021.

Councillor Damian White, Leader of Havering Council, explained the decision:

"As with all large public events, the show takes many months of preparation and planning.

"Faced with the uncertainty of whether it will be safe for mass gatherings to take place this summer

"Plus, whether we will reach Step 4 on the Government’s roadmap out of Covid19 restrictions on 21 June 2021.

"We could not risk incurring costs for the event that may otherwise need cancelling closer to the time.

"Our events team, sponsors and exhibitors work hard to put on this show.

"Each year thousands of residents come along and enjoy themselves.

“We will be looking at other ways at bringing the community together.

"Once  restrictions are fully lifted in line with government guidelines and public health advice.”
