Abbey Wood is an area of open space close to a privately owned lake, which has direct access to Hornchurch Country Park and the Forestry Commission site Berwick Glades.
It can be used as the start of a walk along the Ingrebourne Valley which reaches Hornchurch Stadium at Upminster Bridge.

Car parking
The wood has no off-street car park of its own, however there is limited parking in the surrounding residential streets.
Please be aware of any parking restrictions that may be in force.
There is a free car park a short walk away at Berwick Wood which is located at the opposite end of the main footpath that leads from Abbey Wood Lane past the fishing lake.
