Live Healthier Havering
A free, life changing and evidence-based adult weight loss programme, brought to you by Everyone Active in partnership with Havering Council.
Open to Havering residents aged 18 years and over, with a BMI between 25 and 44.9.
Programmes are available at sport and leisure centres across the borough, including Harold Hill, Hornchurch, Romford and Rainham.
You can refer yourself or be referred by a health professional.
About the programme
Live Healthier Havering empowers and supports you to achieve a realistic 5 percent weight loss, which can be life-changing.
The group programme involves 2-hour weekly sessions for 12 weeks, consisting of educational sessions including nutrition, stress management, and goal setting, and fun physical activity sessions tailored to all abilities and fitness levels.
There are also follow ups for up to one year to help sustain positive changes to your eating habits and physical activity level.
All programmes are led by qualified weight management and exercise specialists so you will receive expert and up-to-date support free of charge.
Confidential health measurements will allow you to set goals, track your progress and monitor your health.
The programme also provides the opportunity to meet like-minded people and support each other to stay motivated and celebrate successes.
People who complete the full 12-week programme on average lose 5 percent of their body weight, have increased energy levels, mobility and self-esteem and a reduced risk of disease such as coronary heart disease, diabetes and strokes.

Live Healthier Havering – Learning Disability healthy lifestyle programme
We also offer a free healthy lifestyle programme specifically for adults with mild to moderate learning disabilities. Open to Havering residents aged 18 years and over with a BMI between 25 and 44.9.
You can refer yourself, or be referred by a carer or health professional.
Aimed at adults with mild to moderate disabilities and their carers, the 2-hour weekly sessions for 12 weeks will cover fun activities whilst learning about living a healthier lifestyle.
The programme also offers the opportunity to make new friends and will support participants to achieve a healthy weight.
