The Crossrail Complimentary Measures work at Romford Station began in 2016 and was completed 2018 featuring and improved pavement surface, better lighting, signage, bins and a pedestrian plaza.

This includes the creation of a station plaza and changes to the bus stand area, installation of new trees, seating and bus shelters.

Enhancements under the bridge have also been completed and the revised footways now have new levels to ensure effective drainage.

Improvements to the area should make journeys through the area more pleasant for all users in the vicinity.
